About the project
After the agreement of the master plan, CARENE, the sanitation body for the region, identified a crucial need to improve its infrastructure.
They signed off on the construction of a new transfer station and a buffer unit. This project is located in Saint Nazaire, near Place Neptune and the Villès-Martin beach, a strategic location for the city because of its vicinity to the seafront which is currently being redeveloped.
What was PRO-FOND’s contribution?
PRO-FOND, in collaboration with the CHARIER GC and CHARIER TP Group, played a key role in this ambitious project. We installed a diaphragm wall as part of the construction of a subterranean circular retention basin for rainwater.
Which challenges did PRO-FOND have to overcome?
The main challenge was working in a constricted and extremely busy location while minimizing our impact on the urban environment and the neighboring beach.
Additional information
Beyond the technical side, our work has been very beneficial for the community. Not only does this project improve the Saint-Nazaire sanitation system, but also helps preserve the local environment. It comes as part of a wider vision for urban development and environmental protection.
