A little context?
Over 300km long with 38km of connections to the conventional rail network, the high-speed line project is one of the largest infrastructure projects launched in the last decade. Representing a total investment of €7.8 billion, it also constitutes the largest public-private partnership (PPP) ever signed in the railway sector in France.
At the end of the project’s routing, this railway line will enable travelers to reach Bordeaux from Paris in 2h05.
What was PRO-FOND’s contribution?
As part of this prestigious project, PRO-FOND provided its expertise by laying piles for the Folie Estacade bridge in Poitiers. With an envelope of over €6 Million, our intervention ensured the solidity, stability, and durability of this major project which allowed the connection of the new line to the existing rail network located in the north of Poitiers.
Additional Information
During the construction phase, this project created over 4500 jobs including 1300 full-time jobs post-completion, helping boost the local economy. At the end of site works, 150 permanent jobs were created to operate and maintain the line, ensuring the sustainability of economic benefits. In addition, 10% of working hours devoted to infrastructure work were carried out as part of an integration plan. The project took into account environmental impacts, with the implementation of more than 2000 hectares of compensatory measures to preserve biodiversity.
