ST CYR L’ECOLE RER – TGO – MUR DE SOUTENEMENT DE LA VIRGULE
About the project
This ambitious project from SNCF RESEAU aimed to install Tram-Train tracks while guaranteeing the stability of the existing tracks.
To do this, we needed to build a strong retaining wall for the platform with a length of around 350 meters, from St Cyr RER station until the beginning of the “Virgule” curve.
What was PRO-FOND’s contribution?
PRO-FOND, as a sub-contractor for BOUYGUES TP, played a key role in this project. With a budget of € 1,867,200.00, our expertise was put to the test to build a permanent and reliable retaining wall.
Which techniques were used?
For this project, PRO-FOND used a number of cutting-edge techniques for special foundations.
We built a Berliner retaining wall, alongside foundation piles and anchorages. These methods were selected for their effectiveness and reliability under difficult construction conditions.
Which challenges did PRO-FOND have to overcome?
The main challenge was working in a tight space, near active railway
tracks. Additionally, most of the work was completed at night to minimize the impact on the train traffic. This required careful scheduling and stringent safety measures.
Additional information
Our contribution to the rail lines was vital, improving urban transport and promoting sustainable mobility in the region.
